Sarah was a 24-year-old civilian activist who emerged during the demonstrations in Basra in 2018 by providing first aid to the wounded before joining the protests of the Tishreen Movement and leading women’s marches. Sarah was married to activist Hussein Adel, and they both had been subjected to death threats. On the night of October 2, 2019, six gunmen linked to The Death Squads killed Sarah with three bullets, who was three months pregnant, and her husband with seven bullets.
