Basim Falaih was an activist and supporter of the Tishreen Movement. On September 20, 2020, two pick up vehicles were used by 7 unidentified gunmen to abduct the young activist Sajjad al-Iraqi, while leaving Basim Falaih wounded, after shooting him. Falaih was shot in one of the streets of Nasiriyah city in Dhi Qar Governorate.
