On March 10, 2020, an armed group led by Hassan Trad Ghalim, an Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq militia member, assassinated human rights lawyer Karar Adil alongside Abdulqudus Qasim. In the middle of Al-Amarah city, the masked gunmen stopped the car in which they were traveling in, and shot and killed them immediately after they ordered them to get out of the car. 

Adel devoted his Facebook page to promoting popular Tishreen Movement protests. He was a nonviolent advocate and participant in the protests since they began in 2018. Their fellow protesters attended their funerals, expressing their grief and resolve to continue their protests until their goals are achieved.
