Political satirist, Ahmed Albasheer, explains, “Freedom of expression inside Iraq is a big lie. […] Evidence of this is what happened in the Tishreen “October” protests, and what happened subsequently: many journalists wrote a post or tweet on Twitter, some of them had their houses blown up, some of them were kidnapped, some of them were threatened by the militias.”
