The Gravedigger and Bulldozer Driver

The Gravedigger and Bulldozer Driver are two anonymous Syrian heroes who were ordinary citizens until the beginning of the Syrian Revolution in 2011. Both the Gravedigger and Bulldozer Driver were forced to work by regime intelligence officers to dispose of corpses. The Gravedigger worked in civilian burials in the Damascus municipality, where the regime recruited him to dispose of corpses coming from detention centers. The Bulldozer Driver drove a bulldozer as the regime and its intelligence services forced him to dig mass graves in different locations, where he buried thousands under gunpoint.

These two men have made it out of Syria bringing out stories and evidence against the Syrian regime and its regional allies such as Iran. Today, the Gravedigger and the Bulldozer Drive are crucial witnesses to the atrocities carried out by the Assad regime.
