Ehab al-Wazni, “The Hero of Karbala”, was a very prominent activist and member of the coordination group of the Tishreen ‘October’ Movement protests. Unidentified gunmen assassinated him in front of his house in  Karbala, as surveillance cameras recorded the event. Qassem Musleh, the commander of Liwa al-Tafuf (militia under the Popular Mobilization Forces), have been widely accused of Al-Wazni’s assassination. His assassination sparked outrage and more protests among supporters of the Tishreen Movement.
